Trick or Treat

I’ve loved Halloween ever since I can remember. There isn’t anything that I dislike about Halloween; I’ve been trick or treating since I was 6 (that I could remember). My mom was always the one to take us trick or treating until we were old enough to go ourselves of course. One Halloween that I still remember until this day is, when I went to a house that looked the spookiest of all the houses on the street, and there was a lady on the steps passing out candy   in her bowl. She told me that I could grab some out of her bowl and when I did a hand grabbed me and I screamed so loud and ran. I had nightmare about that bowl for two weeks after Halloween.
Another thing that I liked about Halloween was that I got to pick my costume. One Halloween I chose to be a witch and i had a black dress with the witch hat and black lipstick to match. When I got to be a teenager (13) I still went trick or treating as my either myself or a devil and a cat. Once I turned fifteen I realized that I was too old to go trick or treating. As a result my grandfather brought use candy every year and sent it to us and still does. This Halloween that passed he still kept the tradition going and sent me some candy to school, and I felt like a little kid all over again.

"Change is good"

If there was anything about Wright State University I would change their schedule for serving food. I think that their schedule should be more convenient. I like the food at the student union because you get to have a more of a choice when you go in there to eat. The Student Union closes too early, it should be open until nine on weekdays like the Hanger.
Another thing that I would change is the amount of tickets that you get for the games. If it was up to me I would want everyone to get three tickets for each game season and sport. For example we should have two tickets for the Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, and Football games. I wish that our parents and siblings should be able to come to three games for every season for free. I know that these things will most likely not change but if they did that It would be cool and I would be happy.
Even though these are things that I would like to change about WSU, it doesn’t change how I feel about the University an all that it has to offer. I still love this college and the things that make the college like the events, parties, and people. At the end of the day things can always get better, but if these things don’t change it wouldn’t change the love have for the college.

Drafts

The revisions that were done in class I felt that it was helpful. When my paper was looked at by a peer from class, I soon found out the mistakes I had made and what I needed to do to fix them. When I my paper on “Just Be Nice” I realized that I had to do the paper all over again because It was more of a summary then an analysis. On the other paper “A President Like My Father” the error I mad with that paper was that I wrote the paper coming from my opinion on how I felt about Barack Obama. I think that the drafting process is making a difference in my writing because I can see the mistakes I have made and fixed them.
The comments that I receive from the revisions and drafting process is helpful because I see what my peer thinks is wrong, and I see what my teacher see’s I wrong after I fix my paper based on the comments that my peer made. Overall the instructor’s comments are clear enough for me to understand, so I can transform my paper into a better more academic paper with the right punctuation and words. The only issues I have with the revision process, is that once we fix our papers based on our peers thoughts, and sometimes I wonder if  what they see is wrong, is it truly wrong? With our teachers input after our peers opinions, I feel confident that my paper is error free.

A mirror image

In this painting by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec he is very detailed as he speaks to little girls threw his details on his painting. In this particular painting it seems as if the girl on the left is a mirror image of what the girl on the right wants to be. In this painting there are two girls, the one on the left is wearing a pink gown, and looks as if she is sad. As for the girl on the right she has a white blouse with a red skirt and her hair looks clean and brushed. In the background the sky is dark which again is letting you know how sad the girl is. Next to the girl on the right in the sand seems to be a mirror and perhaps a bar of soap.
What I am grasping from the details in this picture is that the girl on the left is her, and that she wants to look like that. She wishes she could have better clothes and even look prettier. The mirror is symbolizing how she wishes she could look and the soap is symbolizing how she wants to be more clean and nice looking. Because of this she may have low self-esteem, due to how she wishes she looked. In this painting it touches on how little girls may not be comfortable in their own skin and how they want to look prettier, and Henri de Toulouse- Lautrec did an outstanding job of informing people of how little girls feel around the world.

Isolating children from TV

Yes I believe that if all the TV’s where unplugged in America children would be healthier, more independent and better educated. Kids would be better educated because instead of watching TV they would go outside play basketball, hide and seek or even race. If they do that then they will be in shape and even loose a little weight. In a sense it would make kids more independent because they wouldn’t look at TV commercials and saying that they want to be just like a particular artist. They would be better educated because they wouldn’t be steered the wrong way by seeing inappropriate things on TV.
I also don’t agree because if all TV’s were off what would kids watch? On TV there are still educational shows and cartoons for kids. At the end of the day kids still need to be kids and watch kid shows. On TV there are educational shows that are good for a kid that tells then about colors and shapes. There are good shows on television that kids can benefit from wither parents believe it or not. If parents truly don’t want their kids to watch television then they should block those channels so there kids won’t watch the inappropriate shows. As long as your kids know right from wrong and they are well disciplined, and parents block channels then that’s all that they can do, if they want their kids to somewhat have a normal kid life. Keeping kids isolated from TV wouldn’t make their relationship better with their parents; it would make them not only isolated from TV but from their parents as well.

Power Of Advertising

Advertising is everywhere; we see it when we are on the streets, they are on billboards, or even a bus. Advertising is what makes people want to buy the things that they are trying to sell on TV. When you see advertising you usually see women, this is because women are what sell the product or make the commercial interesting for men. Men are drawn to ads and commercials with women in it and they may want to buy there girl a certain bra because of how nice it looked in a girl in a commercial. Advertising persuades young people all the way to adults.
To me some advertising is good and some is bad. Advertising I feel can be misled in a lot of ways now a days. There was an ad about going back to school that I saw, but the ad had a man and a woman all on each other in a car with papers on the seat of the car. Now that ad had nothing to do with going back to school. As far as commercials they can also be misleading, there can be a commercial that comes on and you will be thinking that it is talking about one thing and next thing you know it’s about something else. Advertising wants you to see a commercial to be deceiving to the eyes, because at the end of the day that is part of what makes an ad or a commercial interesting and gets you to think.

Wright State University

I choose to attend Wright State University because of the location, excellence and upkeep. When I decided to go to college I had to figure out if I wanted to leave the state or stay close to home. When I decided that I didn't want to be no more then two hours away from my home, that's when I had to go and look at a variety of different colleges within an two hour distance. When I finally heard about Wright State, and that the college of business was pretty outstanding it was then when I chose to take a tour of the university. When I pulled up I was almost sold on coming to this college, and as the tour started and ended, I knew that this was indeed the college for me.

As I revised the tour and  the information with my mom, I thought about how outstanding the college of business was, and that it is one of the best 301 business schools in the U.S. for MBA(Masters in Business Management) program. They had told me that they did internships and most people do internships while they are in college and there after. The faculty and the staff made sure that I was informed of every detail that made there college of business worth going too. They told me about the history behind Raj Soin College of business and facts not only about jobs, but people that have succeeded and got to where they are today.

What put the icing on the cake was how well built the school was. I thought the school was very pleasant and at ease. The appearance of the building can alter one's feeling or opinion about it, but it indeed didn't alter mines. Looking at the school, made me feel that I could potentially call it my second home. Overall, the school looked amusing and i felt content about it and about going there, so i made my decision. Now I ask you,Would you choose Wright State University?
